Are you an experienced Senior Estimator who enjoys shaping projects and teams, defining and implementing long term strategies and processes for cost effective and efficient building practice, who genuinely values good pre-construction thinking?

Then this role with a long-standing Tier 2 design & build contractor here in Wellington might be the right fit for you.

Their approach is friendly, professional, steady, and very much relationship-driven, particularly through early contractor involvement, where the estimating team plays a big part in planning and setting projects up well.

What you’d be doing:

  • Taking the lead on pricing upcoming commercial projects and ensuring estimates are clear and accurate
  • Preparing cost plans and tender submissions from early concept through to final sign-off
  • Contributing early insight around buildability, risks and smarter delivery options, ensuring consistent and effective communication with project teams
  • Providing support to junior estimators and helping refine how the team works, maximising efficiency, and building robust systems and processes 

What they’re looking for:
Someone operating at a senior level already, with a strong grounding in commercial construction. Experience in design & build or ECI environments will be really useful, along with the ability to juggle multiple bids while keeping communication clear and steady. Confidence with typical estimating software is expected, but the real focus is on your judgement, approach, and ability to work well with people.

They’re very open to applicants from the UK who are thinking about relocating, and equally happy to consider candidates already in NZ with proven senior experience.
