Senior Industrial Electrician

Based in the Mangere workshop, you’ll join a collaborative team assembling and commissioning portable crushers, rock mills, and mobile laboratory equipment for the mining industry. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll lead electrical build projects from start to finish. You’ll take ownership of your own jobs while supervising and mentoring junior electricians on the workshop floor.
The role also includes international travel:

  • Up to 4 overseas trips per year
  • Trips may range from a few days to several weeks
  • Generous travel allowances on top of your hourly rate
  • All travel is organised and supported by the company

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 6:00am – 2:30pm, giving you your afternoons back.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and deliver electrical build projects from start to finish
  • Supervise and mentor junior electricians and apprentices
  • Wire and assemble industrial machinery
  • Build electrical panels
  • Test and calibrate motors and drives
  • Work from schematics and technical drawings
  • Support local and international commissioning
  • Maintain safety, quality, and tidy workmanship

What we’re looking for:

  • EWRB licence (Electrician or Electrical Engineer)
  • Strong industrial electrical experience
  • Experience leading jobs or mentoring junior staff
  • Knowledge of PLCs, VSDs, and HMIs
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings
  • Organised and methodical approach
  • Commitment to safety and tidy workmanship
  • Willingness to travel internationally
  • Positive, team-first leadership attitude
  • Machine build or commissioning experience is ideal
