Site Manager – Palmerston North

I’m seeking an experienced Site Manager to join an established and well-respected commercial construction business in Palmerston North. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of site delivery on quality projects, working alongside an experienced Project Manager and commercial team.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme, and to a high standard of workmanship, while leading subcontractors and site teams on a daily basis.

The Role

  • Lead and coordinate daily on-site construction activities
  • Manage subcontractors, site resources, and sequencing of works
  • Champion health, safety, quality, and environmental standards
  • Maintain short-term programmes and monitor progress against milestones
  • Support commercial outcomes through accurate reporting, variations, and productivity tracking
  • Drive project completion, inspections, and defect rectification

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager (or strong Site Supervisor ready to step up)
  • A relevant trade qualification (e.g. LBP or BCITO or similar)
  • Solid understanding of construction methodologies and site sequencing
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • A proactive, organised approach to programme and safety management
  • Commitment to quality delivery and professional site culture
