Training & Development Manager – Commercial Main Contractor – Wellington

This well-established commercial construction main contractor is known for delivering complex projects across New Zealand and fostering a strong, supportive internal culture.

We’re recruiting for an experienced Training & Development Manager to take ownership of learning and capability development across the business. This is a key role focused on designing and implementing practical training initiatives that support operational success on-site and professional growth within the wider team.

You’ll work closely with senior leaders to shape strategy, manage the LMS, and ensure training is engaging, relevant, and measurable. The ideal candidate will come from a construction background within New Zealand and have a solid understanding of what good looks like in a project environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and delivering impactful learning programs that align with business and site needs
  • Managing the Learning Management System and ensuring compliance across business units
  • Identifying development needs and tailoring training accordingly
  • Advising leaders and site teams on learning solutions, trends, and improvements

To be considered you will need:

  • Several years’ experience in L&D or organisational development
  • A relevant adult education qualification
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with strong facilitation and instructional design skills
  • The ability to influence and build relationships at all levels
  • Prior experience in a construction or project-based environment (essential)
  • Confidence with LMS platforms and training analytics
