About the company
Our client operates a modern, high-volume dairy manufacturing site producing premium nutritional powders for export markets. Soon to be operating 24/7 with state-of-the-art process and packaging technology, the facility integrates high levels of automation, precision control, and hygiene compliance expected of a world-class dairy producer. With significant scale-up underway and facility expansion plans in progress, the stage is set of a significant period of growth.
About the role
Reporting to the Validation & Continuous Improvement Manager, this newly created position will be responsible for all aspects of validation for manufacturing operations within the facility including spray drying, blending and canning plants. This includes determining the test requirements of equipment and processes, writing the relevant IQ. OQ and PQ protocols and executing these within defined timeframes.
As part of the Continuous Improvement team, you’ll also need to identify opportunities for improvement and process reliability, and to use route cause analysis and your problem-solving skills to validate robust processes. With plant expansion ongoing, you will be involved with a number of capital and improvement projects.
As a suitable applicant
As a preferred candidate, you will need to have a solid base with a minimum of 5 years’ process and equipment validation experience within nutritional dairy manufacture. You will have proven experience in designing and executing validation of equipment and processes to meet current (and future) compliance standards. You will have some level of continuous improvement experience, with 6 Sigma or a similar qualification also beneficial.
Just as importantly, you will need to be able to work independently as a subject matter expert but also engage with and support other members of the validation team. You’ll also be adept at working cross-functionally with other teams to manage your workload and deadlines alongside theirs for a mutually successful outcome.
Skills/experience
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant scientific field
- 5+ years’ experience in nutritional dairy operations
- 3+ Process validation including IQ/OQ/PQ also within nutritional dairy
- Able to identify and implement CI opportunities
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong cross-functional working relationships
- Strong time management skills, able to see and resolve potential issues
- Broader QA experience within a cGMP (or equivalent) environment
- Able to support and mentor colleagues
- Computer literacy
