Before joining Technical Recruitment Solutions, JK owned an electrical/automation business which ran for 10 years. He designed, maintained and installed automated machinery mainly associated with the manufacturing industry. JK also designed and built a range of cable cars and other material handling projects. He then got into technical sales, working as a sales engineer supplying drives and hazardous electrical equipment to the heavy industry and Oil & Gas sectors throughout NZ. Following this he took up a Sales Management role with PDL Electronics (now Schneider) running a team of 4 sales engineers selling large AC variable speed drives. Arriving at Technical Recruitment Solutions in 1997, JK joined us having operated across industrial markets and this experience has exposed him to virtually every manufacturing plant, engineering consultancy and contracting company throughout the country.

In his spare time, JK enjoys the outdoors, tramping, hiking, hunting and fishing. As an ex-sportsman, he enjoys watching sports. His other hobbies include cooking, working with dogs, looking after his twin grandsons and tinkering in the shed – in his words: “If I can see it, then I’ll build it!”
