About the Company
Our client is a leading provider of innovative security and building management solutions. Due to high workload, they’re seeking an experienced Technical Sales Engineer/Account Manager to join their dynamic BMS team in East Auckland.
 
The Role
As a Technical Sales Engineer/Account Manager, you’ll provide technical support, manage projects, and contribute to sales efforts. This role offers a balance of office-based work, client interactions, and occasional hands-on technical tasks. The position focuses on supporting projects from a sales/account management/project management perspective. The projects are installations of top of the range Panasonic BMS (Building Management Systems), Alarms, and CCTV that includes facial recognition.

Your responsibilities will encompass pricing, ordering equipment, and organising on-site work, with an emphasis on client relationship management. And doing some basic 2D AutoCAD drawing for installation as-builts.

Location: The job is based in East Auckland and is office based with day trips to client sites but no trips away overnight. So, it’s a nice role for people who like to get out and about but who also like to or need to be home every night.

Great Customers: The key customer is a really large and good customer to work with across the North Island who provide on-going work, and they have another global company as a customer too, so there is decent job stability and work-flow.

Your Team:
Reporting to the BMS Team Manager you will also have 7 other colleagues in this tight-knit, experienced and multicultural team who do the hands-on installations and enjoy their work. The team has a range of ages and enjoy their sport.
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide pre- and post-sales technical support for BMS and security solutions
  • Assist in system design, quoting, and project management
  • Resolve technical issues and provide on-site support to clients
  • Create user documentation, including as-built documents and user guides
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Assist with installation work as needed

 
About You:

  • An ideal candidate should have a semi-technical background or be an ex-tradesman. For example, an electrical, controls engineering, or IT background. And familiarity with Panasonic CCTV and alarm systems is a plus.
  • Minimum 3 years of practical experience in security/CCTV systems
  • Strong communication and relationship-building abilities at all levels
  • Strong technical competence in security solutions and NZ equipment standards
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on approach
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team
  • Adaptable and comfortable with change and multitasking
  • Clean driver’s license
