Account Manager

Operating nationally for more than 30 years, this organisation works closely with New Zealand’s refrigeration and HVAC industry to support the safe recovery and destruction of synthetic refrigerants, helping reduce harmful environmental emissions across the country.
With major growth anticipated across the sector, this newly created role offers the opportunity to take ownership of a developing territory with significant long-term potential.

The Role
This is a relationship-focused territory sales and account management role covering Wellington, Hawke’s Bay, Taranaki, Manawatū and surrounding regions.
You’ll work directly with refrigeration and HVAC contractors, service managers and technicians, helping grow engagement across an already established customer base while also developing new business opportunities throughout the region.
The role combines account management, territory development and customer education, with a strong focus on face-to-face engagement and long-term relationship building.
Responsibilities include:

  • Managing and growing existing customer relationships
  • Developing new business opportunities within the HVAC&R sector
  • Re-engaging inactive or underutilised accounts
  • Conducting customer visits across the Lower North Island
  • Delivering presentations, toolbox talks and customer education
  • Territory planning and pipeline development
  • Maintaining CRM records and activity reporting
  • Identifying market trends and commercial opportunities
  • Working closely with a remote team across New Zealand

This is a highly autonomous role where you’ll largely manage your own schedule and territory.

About You
You do not necessarily need to come from refrigeration or HVAC, although industry exposure would be advantageous.
What’s more important is your ability to build trust, communicate well with tradespeople, and confidently manage relationships in a commercially focused environment.
You’ll likely bring:

  • A background in sales, account management or business development
  • Experience working alongside trades, contractors or industrial customers
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills
  • A self-driven and accountable approach to work
  • Good organisation and CRM discipline
  • A practical, solutions-focused mindset
  • High personal integrity and professionalism

This role would suit someone who enjoys autonomy, being out on the road, and building something meaningful over time.

What’s On Offer

  • $90,000–$100,000 salary
  • Company hybrid/electric vehicle with full personal use
  • Annual bonus structure
  • Medical insurance
  • Paid birthday leave
  • Phone + laptop
  • Flexible, fully remote working environment
  • Strong onboarding and ongoing support
  • Genuine long-term stability within a growing organisation

Why Join?

This is one of those rare opportunities where the work has genuine purpose.
You’ll be joining an organisation making a measurable environmental impact while working in a commercially focused, relationship-driven role with real autonomy and long-term growth potential.
If you enjoy territory development, relationship management and working with practical, down-to-earth people, this could be an outstanding next step in your career.
