Commercial Manager – Christchurch

My client, a busy and growing scaffolding business in Christchurch, are looking for an experienced Estimator or Commercial Manager to own the quoting and estimating function for the branch and help drive the business forward.

About the Role

You’ll report directly to the General Manager, and your focus will be quoting and estimating scaffolding work across a small, close-knit team of around 20, backed by a supportive regional leadership team who are heavily involved in helping the branch grow.

There’s a good base of long-standing clients keeping the team busy through winter, and strong scope for the right person to build out the pipeline and win new work, smoothing things out across the quieter summer months too. As the branch grows under your commercial input, there’s room for the role to expand further down the track.

Typical Responsibilities

  • Quote and estimate scaffolding work across the branch
  • Build and manage a pipeline of new and repeat business
  • Work closely with the GM and regional leadership on branch growth
  • Read and understand plans and designs to price work accurately
  • Build strong client relationships to win and retain work

What We’re Looking For

We’re after someone with experience quoting and estimating scaffolding or related construction work. Wwhether you’re already working at Commercial Manager level, or you’re a strong Estimator ready to step up and take ownership of a branch. You’ll be sales-minded, comfortable working closely with a hands-on GM, and confident managing your own workload in a small and close-knit team.
