The Opportunity
The organisation is seeking an experienced Food Technologist with meat industry experience to take on a role in the development of products from concept through to commercialisation. Reporting to the Senior Food Technologist, you’ll lead development projects, working in a team to ensure all products meet quality, regulatory, and commercial requirements while guiding projects through the full NPD process. 
This is a full-time permanent position working 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities
As a Food Technologist, you will be expected to work in product development in a meat processing environment. 
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • End to end product development
  • Meeting customer requirements, quality standards, and cost targets
  • Run product trials and scale up
  • Technical specifications and documentation creation and maintenance
  • Cross-functional collaboration with the wider team
  • Contribute to regulatory compliance, shelf life testing, sensory evaluation, food safety
  • Contribute to ingredient sourcing, supplier selection, raw material specification
  • Packaging and artwork specifications

You, the Candidate
You will be an experienced Food Technologist with experience in the meat industry, a great attitude, and a willingness to learn and develop. 

The successful candidate will have the following skills, qualifications, and experience –

  • A tertiary qualification in Food or Dairy Technology, Food Science, or a related field.
  • 2+ years’ commercial experience in NPD in FMCG industry.
  • Experience with meat processing is essential. You must also be comfortable eating all meats. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate, influence, and engage across teams.
  • A proactive, hands-on, and solutions-focused approach.
  • Adaptability and resilience when working in a dynamic environment.
