Fantastic opportunity to further your career with one of New Zealand’s specialised providers of Operational Process Safety Engineering services. They combine specialist process engineering and management skills, as they work closely with heavy industries, manufacturing, engineering and large operational companies, to establish and implement their process safety programs to the highest possible standards.
Their clientele come from across the heavy manufacturing / operational sectors but predominantly are organisations within the Chemical, Food/Dairy, Energy, Timber, Pharmaceutical, Pulp and Paper sectors, to name just a few. With plenty of ongoing work we have a need for a Functional Safety Consultant to join the team based in Rotorua.
The Role
The key purpose of this Functional Safety Consultant role is to take the lead on functional safety work and process safety consulting work.
You will be involved in:
- Leading functional safety specifications, design, and verification activities
- Performing functional safety assessments
- Developing functional safety management plans
- Undertaking IEC61511 audit compliance
- Undertaking process safety reviews and audits
- Leading safety management system development
- Reviewing Safety reports (HAZOPs, LOPAs etc)
- Mentoring graduates and junior engineers
To be successful in the role you will be:
- A Tertiary qualified engineer
- Functional Safety Engineer certified (TUV or CFSE)
- Experienced to a senior level with functional safety within process industries
- Strong understanding of Safety Instrumental Systems and their configuration
- Experienced with process safety engineering – investigations, audits and process improvements.
- Confident working with clients and delivering their safety needs
