Health and Safety Officer
This high-performing and well-regarded commercial construction company is growing its HSE team. With multiple exciting projects underway and new ones set to start across commercial high-rise, public sector developments, and heritage restorations, they are now looking to appoint two HSE professionals:
- A Site-Based HSE Officer to join the team full-time on one major project site, and
- A HSE Administrator/Coordinator to support health and safety functions across multiple projects.
The Jobs
Site-Based HSE Officer
You will take the lead in implementing Workplace Health, Safety & Environmental plans on one large-scale construction site. This role is hands-on, visible, and key in ensuring company-wide EH&S standards are understood and maintained by all staff and contractors on-site. You’ll be managing audits, running on-site training, ensuring systems and processes are followed, and working closely with senior leadership to uphold safety culture. Your ability to build trust and lead from the front will be crucial in promoting best practices and a collaborative site environment.
HSE Administrator/Coordinator
This is a more administrative, support-focused role. You’ll work across multiple projects to ensure accurate H&S documentation, assist in reporting, schedule audits and training, and keep safety records up to date. Working alongside the wider HSE and Project teams, you’ll help coordinate initiatives, monitor compliance, and assist in the smooth implementation of the company’s safety systems. This role suits someone with a sharp eye for detail, great communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Your Experience
For either role, we’re looking for people who:
- Hold relevant H&S/OSH qualifications or are working towards them
- Have construction industry experience (or other high-risk sectors)
- Are detail-focused, self-motivated, and keen to take ownership of their work
- Bring a positive attitude, enjoy being part of a team, and value a strong safety culture
In Return Whether you’re on-site or in a support role, you’ll have the opportunity to make a real difference, improving processes and growing your capabilities within a collaborative, high-performing team. You’ll be backed by experienced leadership and offered long-term opportunities within this respected Wellington business. If you’re looking for autonomy, variety, and the chance to be part of a company that genuinely values safety, this is an ideal opportunity.
