Electraflo (https://www.electraflo.co.nz/) the in-house team of industrial electricians and automation technicians for Thermaflo (https://www.thermaflo.co.nz/) specialise in the design, fabrication, install and commissioning of automated liquid food processing plants around New Zealand, Australia, Asia and the Pacific Basin.

Working with heating, cooling, and processing systems for the dairy, plant-based alternatives, juice, honey and other liquid food processing industries, they also service boilers, water/glycol chilling systems, air conditioning and factory ventilation. Including site installation trunking, interconnecting cabling and the wiring of the variable speed drives, motors, instruments, and commissioning of these projects.

The Opportunity
We are looking for an Industrial Electrician to join the team in Palmerston North. Reporting directly to the Electraflo Manager and working in the Industrial Electricians and Automated Engineers team, this critical role is responsible for working with electrical servicing, maintenance and project work.

You will be involved in a wide range of tasks, from electrical systems maintenance to new project installations. Involved in in quoting, creating and interpreting electrical drawings, conducting workshop tasks, and performing on-site work across the Lower North Island.

Specifically, the role involves:

  • Building, installing and commissioning electrical hardware and control cabinets
  • Site-based electrical maintenance and fault finding
  • Interpreting and creating electrical drawings using AutoCAD (training provided if needed)
  • Supporting quoting and project documentation
  • Preparing for and leading site work or working independently
  • Travel and working away from home as required

What We are Looking For
You will be a qualified and registered electrician with experience in industrial environments, preferably with experience with liquid food processing.
You will also bring:

  • Experience in industrial electrical installation, commissioning and maintenance
  • Skills in reading and drafting wiring diagrams
  • Proven experience with fault finding and diagnostics
  • A personable, team-focused approach with the ability to lead or work independently
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
