Mechanical Shift Fitter
Keep one of NZ’s fastest production lines firing – and get paid well above the market for doing it.
If you’re wondering whether this employer truly walks the talk, here’s how you can tell:
- Maintenance team tenure is measured in decades, not years – people join and stay.
- They manufacture an essential, high-demand product – their production volumes keep growing.
- They pay significantly above market rates – genuinely. Call me and I’ll prove it.
Based in South Auckland, this large-scale manufacturing site produces high-speed packaging solutions that supply major brands across the country. When you’re producing thousands of units per minute, maintenance isn’t just important – it’s mission-critical.
The Role
You’ll work a 4-on, 4-off rotating roster of 12-hour day and night shifts, carrying out a mix of routine maintenance, breakdown response, and continuous improvement work on a highly automated, ultra-fast production line.
You’ll get hands-on with:
- Conveyors and high-speed handling systems
- Pneumatic and hydraulic equipment
- Tooling, dies and precision assemblies
- Auxiliary production machinery
- Fabrication, turning and component modifications in the onsite workshop
- Managing and maintaining critical spare parts
If you enjoy solving mechanical problems under pressure and keeping high-speed equipment running smoothly, this is your environment.
What You’ll Bring
- NZ Trade Qualification – Mechanical Engineering
- Experience in high-speed or automated manufacturing (ideal)
- Strong mechanical fault-finding ability
- Fitting and machining experience
- Welding skills – TIG preferred
- Computer literacy and CMMS experience
- Current NZ working rights
