This is a growing, innovative team where processes are evolving, priorities can shift, and collaboration is key. You’ll be trusted to take ownership, contribute ideas, and help shape how things are done.
About the role
We’re looking for a Process Development Engineer who wants more than just maintaining existing systems—you’ll help design, build, and scale manufacturing processes for innovative medical products in a fast-moving, early-stage environment. If you enjoy solving complex problems, working hands-on, and seeing your work move from concept to production, this is a role where you’ll have real impact.
Reporting to the Senior Manager – Operations, you will be responsible for developing and optimising manufacturing processes across the full product lifecycle. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams including R&D and Quality to ensure processes are robust, scalable, and aligned with product requirements.
Responsibilities will include:
- Design and develop manufacturing processes across tissue processing, packaging, sterilisation, and transport
- Translate product concepts into scalable, production-ready processes
- Support process transfer into manufacturing, ensuring smooth implementation
- Develop and maintain clear, compliant documentation (work instructions, batch records)
- Conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate controls
- Partner with suppliers to ensure outsourced processes are robust and controlled
- Support equipment maintenance and calibration planning, contribute to the setup and development of manufacturing facilities
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce cost, and optimise resources
About you
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in accuracy and quality. As you’ll be joining a small team, a good attitude and the ability to get on with people is key.
In addition, the suitable candidate will have the following:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline
- At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role (ideally more)
- Experience within medical devices or a regulated manufacturing environment (highly advantageous)
- Understanding of GMP and validation principles
- Strong problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on approach
- Clear and effective communication skills
- Able to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Collaborative team player with a proactive mindset
- High level of accountability and attention to detail
- Have full NZ working rights
