Technical Recruitment Solutions is proud to be partnering with a well-established pharmaceutical manufacturer based near Auckland City Centre, in the search for their next Production Manager.
Our client delivers high-quality medicines and specialised healthcare solutions that support healthcare providers across New Zealand. With a strong patient-first philosophy, the organisation operates within a highly regulated cGMP manufacturing environment and has capabilities across sterile and non-sterile manufacturing, injectable products, pharmaceutical compounding solutions, and specialised medicines.
About the Role
This opportunity sits within a specialised production function focused on preparing medicines within a tightly controlled environment where quality, accuracy, and patient safety are critical.
Reporting to the General Manager, the Production Manager will oversee manufacturing operations, ensuring production objectives are achieved efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of GMP compliance and quality. This role requires a strategic yet hands-on leader who can drive operational performance, lead and develop teams, oversee validation and continuous improvement initiatives, and foster a culture of accountability and collaboration.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Leading production operations to ensure safe, efficient delivery of production plans while maintaining GMP and quality standards
- Driving compliance across manufacturing processes, documentation, and regulatory requirements
- Managing validation activities, new product introductions, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Leading, coaching, and developing production teams, ensuring training and capability standards are maintained
- Monitoring operational performance, KPIs, budgets, and implementing actions to optimise productivity and cost efficiency
About You, the Candidate
The ideal candidate for this role will bring a combination of strong technical capability, leadership experience, and a hands-on approach. Skills and attributes will include:
- 5+ years’ experience in a Production Management role within a GMP-regulated environment
- Demonstrated experience in aseptic compounding (Essential)
- Strong knowledge of GMP standards, quality systems, and production operations
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and organisational skills
- Practical, proactive, resilient, and able to remain calm under pressure
- Leadership exposure in clinical or pharmaceutical environments would be advantageous
