A highly respected Design & Build contractor is entering an exciting new phase of growth and is looking to appoint a Project Manager to join its South Island team, leading the delivery of large, technically challenging construction projects across Regional Canterbury.

The Opportunity
You’ll take ownership of a large, technically challenging Design & Build project, leading it from design coordination and planning through to successful delivery and handover. Working closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors and site teams, you’ll ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to an exceptional standard of quality while building strong relationships and consistently exceeding client expectations.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll be trusted to make decisions, solve problems and deliver outstanding outcomes.

Travel & benefits
The project is based in Regional Canterbury, so you’ll be comfortable working away from home Monday to Friday. All travel, accommodation and Living Away From Home Allowances are provided, allowing you to focus on the project while enjoying your weekends back at home.

About You
This role would suit an Project Manager who enjoys ownership, thrives on technically challenging projects and is looking to build a long-term career with a business that genuinely recognises and rewards performance. Ideally you’ll bring:

  • Success delivering commercial, or industrial construction projects in New Zealand
  • Trade or tertiary construction qualifications
  • Strong planning, programming and contract management skills
  • A sound understanding of NZ construction methodologies
  • A collaborative leadership style 
  • Confidence managing complex projects within live environments
  • The flexibility to work away from home Monday to Friday
