A highly respected Design & Build contractor is entering an phase of growth and is recruiting an experienced Site Manager to join a new project starting in the next 8 weeks. Lead the day-to-day delivery of a technically challenging construction project in regional canterbury.

Working closely with the Project Manager, you’ll take ownership of the day-to-day site operations, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and to programme. You’ll coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and site personnel, driving short-term planning, sequencing works and resolving issues before they impact productivity.

You’ll lead from the front, creating a positive site culture while maintaining the highest standards of health and safety, workmanship and client satisfaction.

The project is based in Regional Canterbury, so you’ll be comfortable working away from home Monday to Friday. All travel, accommodation and Living Away From Home Allowances are provided, allowing you to focus on the project while enjoying your weekends back at home.

About You

We’re looking for someone who enjoys running a well-organised site, takes pride in quality workmanship and naturally leads by example. Ideally you’ll have:

  • 3-5 years’ Site Management experience on Commercial or Industrial projects in New Zealand 
  • Trade qualification or relevant construction background
  • Good planning, coordination and organisational skills
  • A proactive approach to solving problems on site
  • Excellent knowledge of NZ health and safety requirements
  • High standards around quality and workmanship
  • A positive leadership style that earns the respect of subcontractors and site teams
  • The flexibility to work away from home Monday to Friday
