Graduate Engineer (Construction)
Are you an Engineering or Construction Graduate looking to build a career in vertical construction project delivery? A highly regarded construction business is recruiting a Graduate Engineer to join their team and contribute to the delivery of technically challenging construction projects.
This is an opportunity to work alongside experienced Project Managers, Engineers and Quantity Surveyors while gaining exposure to construction planning, design coordination, site delivery, reporting and stakeholder management. You’ll join a supportive team that enjoys developing young engineers and providing the experience needed to progress into future Project Management and leadership roles.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Working closely with the Project Managers, Engineering Manager and site teams, you will assist with the planning, coordination and delivery of construction works while learning how major projects are successfully delivered.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting design coordination and engineering reviews
- Supporting construction planning and short-term programming
- Coordinating subcontractors, consultants and suppliers
- Assisting with quality assurance and project reporting
- Monitoring progress and identifying potential risks
- Assisting with contract administration and project controls
- Developing strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders
- Helping resolve technical and construction-related challenges
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
This role suits someone early in their career and has the following:
• New Zealand Engineering or Construction degree
• Approximately 1-3 years’ NZ engineering, construction or project experience
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A practical mindset and willingness to learn
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Ability to work collaboratively within a project team
• Comfortable with national travel
Previous site-based experience through graduate programmes, internships, summer work or construction employment will be highly regarded.
