Project Manager (Civil)
The Opportunity
Join a specialist infrastructure advisory firm working directly with asset owners on major civil projects across New Zealand.
You’ll be part of a team made up of ex-contractors who understand the realities of construction, bringing practical thinking into the front end of projects and drive value through delivery.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Provide input into project feasibility, staging, methodology, and risk
- Support and review cost estimates and construction programmes
- Advise on buildability and design coordination across disciplines
- Support tender evaluations and procurement strategies
- Contribute to project controls – cost, programme, and risk
- Work alongside clients as a trusted advisor across the project lifecycle
Projects can include Major transport (roads, bridges, tunnels, rail) through to 3 waters, and civil maintenance work
What You’ll Bring
- 5+ years’ experience as a Project Engineer or early-stage Project Manager
- Contractor side experience in NZ
- Good knowledge of NZ contracts and construction methods
- Exposure to costs, planning, and project delivery
- Strong understanding of how projects are built – not just designed
- Commercial awareness and confidence working with stakeholders

- Wants to be involved earlier in project decision-making
- Is comfortable challenging ideas and offering solutions
- Communicates well with both technical and non-technical people
