About the Role
We’re recruiting Shift Fitters / Operational Maintenance Technicians to support a growing maintenance team across process, utilities, and packaging.

This is a hands-on role. You’ll spend the majority of your time on mechanical maintenance, but you’ll also work closely with electricians and assist where required. An EST or similar is a strong advantage, but not essential.

The site is moving toward continuous operation, so the work is a mix of preventative, reactive, and improvement maintenance in a high-speed, highly automated environment. You’ll work alongside experienced operators, engineers, and technicians to keep equipment running safely, efficiently, and to GMP/Dairy standards.

Initially, you’ll be on day shift while training, before transitioning to a 4 on / 4 off roster (12-hour shifts, days and nights) as the plant moves to full 24/7 production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preventative and reactive maintenance across process, utility, and packaging assets
  • Fault finding and repair on automated production equipment
  • Maintenance of fluid handling systems, evaporators, dryers, powder handling, and packaging machinery
  • Support plant utilities including steam, refrigeration, compressed air, and water services
  • Identify and implement reliability and continuous improvement opportunities
  • Record all work through the CMMS to ensure compliance and traceability
  • Maintain strict food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards
  • Work closely with production and engineering teams during shifts and shutdowns

Skills & Experience

  • Trade-qualified Maintenance Fitter, Maintenance Engineer, or dual-trade
  • Proven experience in high-speed manufacturing environments (essential)
  • Background in dairy, food, or beverage manufacturing highly regarded
  • Comfortable working in PLC / SCADA-driven production environments
  • Strong mechanical capability across pumps, valves, conveyors, gearboxes, and pneumatics
  • Calm, structured fault-finding approach under pressure
  • Willing and able to work rotating day/night shifts in a 24/7 operation
  • Strong commitment to quality, safety, and GMP standards
