Technical Manager – Dairy Export

Technical Recruitment Solutions is proud to be partnering with Milkio Foods, a premium exporter of grass-fed ghee and butter products. Their specialised manufacturing facility is conveniently located in Hamilton and they are looking to recruit a Technical Manager for their growing team.

About the Role:

Reporting into senior leadership, this role is central to the company’s technical function. You will take ownership of regulatory compliance, quality systems, and audit management, ensuring all operations meet both New Zealand and international market requirements. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, playing a key role in maintaining product integrity while supporting business growth and innovation.
Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Leading and managing MPI audits (PBV) and non-conformance processes
  • Overseeing certification audits including Halal, Kosher, SQF, and Organic (BioGro)
  • Managing the Risk Management Programme (RMP), including updates and approvals
  • Handling e-Dec and e-Cert documentation for export shipments
  • Ensuring all product labelling meets regulatory requirements across global markets
  • Maintaining compliance with OMAR (Overseas Market Access Requirements)
  • Managing country listings and export approvals
  • Overseeing supplier onboarding and maintaining supplier database
  • Identifying and driving quality and process improvements
  • Providing technical support across the business, including NPD projects
  • Ensuring adherence to all food safety, regulatory, and quality standards

 
About you, the Candidate:

We are seeking an experienced Technical / Compliance Manager, with a strong background in the dairy export industry to drive the international compliance of Milkio’s premium products.
The ideal candidate will bring the following skills and attributes:

  • Degree or diploma in Food Technology or a related field
  • 4–6 years’ experience in a technical role within the dairy export industry
  • Strong knowledge of RMP, OMAR, audits, e-Dec/e-Cert, and labelling compliance
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Confident working independently and managing competing priorities
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
