Business Development Manager

About the Divisions:
ARA (https://aragroup.com.au/) is a multi-divisional installation, service and product business located throughout Australia and New Zealand, with five divisions working together to deliver fully integrated solutions: from turnkey electrical, mechanical, manufacturing and distribution of security products, security and fire protection services, cleaning services, building maintenance and remedial services.
 
The Opportunity:
This newly established position of Business Development Manager is part of a dynamic team based in Auckland, reporting to the National Sales Manager. Responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities, this role will develop a strong sales pipeline, nurture client relationships, and deliver strategic business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and secure new clients within the security sector
  • Develop and deliver tailored proposals and quotes
  • Collaborate with internal technical teams to ensure seamless solutions and service delivery
  • Proactively research and understand market trends, competitor offerings, and client needs
  • Manage the full sales cycle – from lead generation to closing and post-sale engagement
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and report regularly on progress, pipeline, and performance

 What We’re Looking For

  • An experienced Business Development Manager with proven experience identifying and winning new work
  • A background within the Security / Data industry would be beneficial
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to estimate and scope tenders
  • Proficiency in CRM and sales reporting tools
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to work autonomously
  • Relevant security industry licence (preferred)

 As a business development role occasional travel (nationwide) will be required.
