Electrical Reliability Technician

Our client is one of the largest employers in the Southland region, currently employing roughly 700 staff. During over 50 years of operation nearly 300 of them have worked there for over 20 years. With plenty of work underway, there is a need for an Electrical Reliability Technician to provide direction on electrical plant reliability. You will sit at the intersection of technical expertise, planned maintenance, and continuous improvement, with a remit that spans immediate fault identification through to forward planning and project delivery.
 
In particular, you will: 

  • Lead root cause analysis and implement reliability improvements to reduce equipment failures and production losses
  • Develop and optimise maintenance strategies, tactics, and asset management plans
  • Monitor SAP work orders and performance data to identify trends and drive improvements
  • Manage and deliver electrical upgrade and improvement projects, including contractor oversight
  • Coach, mentor, and support electricians to build team capability
  • Provide hands-on technical support and collaborate closely with reliability and maintenance teams

The person.
To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • An electrical trade or tertiary qualification
  • EWRB registration
  • Experience with electrical maintenance and reliability, preferably within a heavy industry
  • Demonstrated use of PLC, VSD, and SCADA communication devices
  • Comfortable working with SAP, able to interrogate work order history to identify trends

 You will be a self-starter driven by a passion for improvement, an analytical problem solver with attention to detail, and will have the proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
