Are you a trade-qualified carpenter with experience of site leadership, ready to step into a foreman role with a business that genuinely values it’s people? This is a great opportunity to join a well known and reputable main contractor with a strong pipeline of work across Wellington, where quality workmanship and good values are key.

The Role
As Site Foreman, you’ll be the go-to person on site, coordinating day-to-day operations, keeping labour and subcontractors on track, and making sure work is delivered safely, on programme, and to a high standard. You’ll report to the Site Manager or Project Manager and play a key role in bridging the gap between the site team and project leadership.

This isn’t a desk role. You’ll be hands-on, leading by example, running toolbox talks, managing hazards, and mentoring the carpenters and apprentices around you.

Typical Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily site activities across labour, subs, and materials
  • Lead and mentor site team members including carpenters, leading hands, and apprentices
  • Champion safety, quality, and environmental compliance on site
  • Support the Project Manager and Site Manager with programme and cost feedback
  • Maintain site documentation and inspection processes
  • Build strong working relationships with subcontractors, consultants, and clients

What We’re Looking For

  • Trade-qualified carpenter with proven site leadership experience
  • Solid understanding of construction sequencing, methods, and standards
  • A genuine commitment to safety and quality, not just box-ticking
  • Strong communicator who can manage people and expectations on the ground
  • Organised, proactive, and comfortable adapting when priorities shift
  • Someone who takes pride in their work and brings others along with them
