The Company: Our client is a well-established nutritional dairy manufacturer that is internationally backed and run from their state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in the North Waikato / South Auckland.

This company is in an exciting phase, having recently taken on new clients and beginning to develop a range of new product lines. With business ramping up, our client is in need of a proactive and passionate Utilities Process Operator to support the Utilities Engineering Lead in operating safe work systems, and ensuring the plant and utilities remain compliant.

The Role:
The Utilities Process Operator will operate, oversee, and maintain the potable water & demineralised water plants, water disinfection system, wastewater DAF system, boilers, industrial air compressors and chillers. Diagnosing and fault finding of equipment breakdowns will also be critical to this role.

Whilst consistently adhering to the plant’s health & safety requirements, this role will also cover cleaning, verification, and calibration of various instruments as well as conducting water testing activities, assisting in audit preparation, monitoring chemical dosing levels and more.

This is a Monday – Friday role, currently running from 6.00am – 2.30pm.
However with business growing, our client would like someone who has the flexibility to work 4 on / 4 off shift patterns in future as they are considering a 24/7 operation

You, the Candidate:
Our client is in search of a candidate that can hit the ground running in process and system control, bringing a strong background in operating either wastewater or potable water processes.
Knowledge and application of drinking water standards is critical to this role, whilst also bringing the mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and fault find any breakdowns.

The ideal candidate will also possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Chemical handling certification
  • Forklift Licence
  • Knowledge of drinking water legislation and the application of DWSNZ & DCP – 3
  • Experience working in a production environment (site utilities or FMCG preferred)
  • Knowledge of how utility issues can implicate the wider manufacturing plant
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
