Senior Mechanical Engineer

Our Central Auckland based client is a professional multi-disciplinary design consultancy specialising in mechanical, civil and structural engineering, process design and project management services. Involved in all aspects of project delivery, including feasibility studies, preliminary design, detailed engineering design, project management, construction monitoring and plant commissioning.

With a strong portfolio of varied project work in multiple industrial energy sectors, and having recently been successfully awarded a large project, has led to the need for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the team in Auckland.

The Role.
As our Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be involved in design and project engineering for renewable energy, water and industrial projects, seeing these projects through to commissioning on site and client handover.

Specifically, you will:

  • Undertake piping system design and stress analysis calculations
  • Liaise with clients and provide project planning and oversight
  • Undertake site visits for site investigations and construction supervision
  • Be responsible for commissioning documentation
  • Support and mentor junior staff

The Person.
To be successful in this role you will:

  • Be a tertiary qualified Mechanical Engineer
  • Have CPEng registration or working towards
  • Be experienced with mechanical and piping design and FEA calculations
  • Have proven experience at a senior level working on renewable energy, water and industrial projects, including site supervision and delivering projects within budget and schedule

You will be a self-starter, dedicated to providing the best solutions and information possible, skilled in working to tight deadlines and of course, able to develop good working relationships with people at all levels.
